Magdalena A K Muir


Magdalena A. K. Muir is Visiting Associate Professor at AU Herning (2012 to 2014) and a Research Associate with the Arctic Institute of North America. At AU Herning, Magdalena A. K. Muir is affiliated with the research centres, Arctic Research Centre, the AU Centre for Energy Technologies (CET), and the Nordic Center of Excellence for Nordic Adaptation Strategy (NORD-STAR). She conducts research on climate adaptation and mitigation including adaptation governance, northern resource development and infrastructure, sustainable energy development and sustainable tourism.

For 2013/2014, she implemented a Fulbright Scholarship on renewable energy and desalination with AU Herning, the Columbia Climate Center, Earth Institute, Columbia University in USA; and the Center for Carbon-free Power Integration and Mangone Center for Marine Policy, College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, University of Delaware, USA.

From 2012 to 2014, she has presented and published on sustainable energy development in the North Sea and circum-Arctic, and adaptation governance approaches. She also presented on the environmental and regulatory regime at the Arctic Offshore Conference 2014 under the Aarhus Interdisciplinary Arctic Initiative.

For 2015, she will continue to work with CET and NCoE NORD-STAR, particularly on the Arctic and energy and resource development. She is also a contributor on northern resource and economic development and adaptation to regional and synthesis reports under the Arctic Council's Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic.
