Science / project plan

The research purpose of field season 2019 for Greenland Institute of Natural Resources is to collect multi-beam data together with physical ground-truthing from 4 target areas in order to map seafloor habitats in the Arctic. This work will provide new knowledge on benthic topography and biodiversity, thus securing fisheries management and environmental assessments to be used in advising Government of Greenland on sustainable use of marine resources.

This cruise covers mapping with multi beam instrument onboard R/V SANNA and sampling of benthos in the region west of Aasiaat.
