Science / project plan

This project use data-loggers on ringed seals and Greenland halibuts to produce a time-series on temperatures and salinity in Kangia (Ilulissat Icefjord) and in Sermilik (near Tasiilaq). The data also describe the seasonal changes in the dive-pattern of the two species. The data-loggers on G. halibuts archive data and the fish will have to be recaptured to receive the data. The data-loggers on ringed seals transmit the data via satellites. This study is a collaboration between The Greenland Institute of Natural resources and University of NewYork.
