Invitation to an afternoon dedicated to polar bears and how to act when visiting their habitat. Welcome to a talk about bear encounters and precautions to take in polar bear land. Thursday 4th of June: 2- 3:15 pm - at GEUS.

2:00 pm – Senior scientist Jørgen Bojesen-Koefoed will go through GEUS’ guidelines for the use of firearms and other means of protection when carrying out fieldwork in Greenland

2:20 pm – Senior scientist Peter Alsen will give a practical demonstration of a  GEUS polar bear alarm

2:40 pm – Senior scientists  Morten Bjerager and Jens Therkelsen tell the story about the polar bear that had the polar bear alarm go off while in the tent having their morning coffee
3:00- 3:15 pm Questions & discussion
